Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using SIGNlanguage ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

Description of Service

SIGNlanguage is a community-powered mobile application that uses artificial intelligence to analyze parking signs from photos you take. The App provides:

• AI-powered analysis of parking sign images
• Interpretation of parking rules, time limits, and restrictions
• Parking timer functionality with alerts
• A shared database of parking sign information contributed by users

User Content and Data Sharing

By using the App, you understand and agree that:

• Photos and Data Collection: When you take a photo of a parking sign, the image, along with location and orientation data, is uploaded to our servers and stored.
• Deidentified Sharing: Your photos, location data, and analysis results may be shared with other SIGNlanguage users, but this data is completely deidentified and cannot be traced back to you.
• License Grant: By submitting content to the App, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, and display your content for the purpose of operating and improving the service.
• Content Visibility: While shared content is anonymous, do not submit photos containing sensitive personal information visible in the image itself.
• Retention: We may retain your content indefinitely, even after you stop using the App or delete your account.

Important Disclaimer

You acknowledge and agree that:

• AI interpretation of parking signs may contain errors or inaccuracies.
• Parking regulations can change without notice and may not be reflected in signs.
• You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable parking laws and regulations.
• You should always verify parking rules through official sources when in doubt.
• We are not liable for any parking tickets, fines, towing, or other consequences resulting from reliance on the App's analysis.

Your Responsibilities

When using the App, you agree to:

• Use Safely: Do not use the App while driving or in any manner that could endanger yourself or others.
• Comply with Laws: Use the App in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
• Verify Information: Exercise your own judgment and verify parking information when making parking decisions.

Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services:

• Anthropic Claude AI: The App uses Anthropic's Claude AI service to analyze parking sign images. Your use of this service is subject to Anthropic's terms of service and usage policies.
• Apple Services: The App may use Apple Maps and location services, subject to Apple's terms.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of third-party services.

Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, and content (excluding user-generated content and third-party materials), is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the App
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code
• Use the App's branding or trademarks without permission
• Remove any copyright or proprietary notices

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, accurate, or uninterrupted.
• We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
• Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SIGNlanguage, its developers, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any parking laws or regulations
• Any parking tickets, fines, or penalties you incur

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes through the App or by updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the App for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles.
