How the App Works

When you use SIGNlanguage to analyze a parking sign:

You take a photo of a parking sign using the app.
The photo, along with location and orientation data, is uploaded to our servers.
The photo is forwarded to Anthropic's Claude AI for analysis.
The AI analysis is returned and stored on our servers.
Photos, location data, and analysis results are stored permanently and may be shared with other users.

Data Sharing and Deidentification

When your data is stored and shared, it is completely deidentified and cannot be linked back to you:

With Other Users: Photos, locations, and analysis results may be visible to other SIGNlanguage users, but with no identifying information about who submitted them.
With Service Providers: We share data with Anthropic (for AI analysis) and other service providers who help us operate the app.
For Legal Purposes: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights.
Aggregated Data: We may share anonymized, aggregated data with third parties for research or commercial purposes.

All shared photos and location data are stripped of any connection to your account or device before being made available to others.

Third-Party Services

SIGNlanguage uses the following third-party services:

Anthropic Claude AI: When you analyze a parking sign, the image is forwarded to Anthropic's API for processing. You are subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy for this interaction.
Cloud Hosting: Deidentified data is stored on secure cloud servers provided by third-party hosting services.
